Kelly is learning to see the light at the end of the tunnel

Untitled design 4

Kelly had suffered a major bereavement and had been really struggling having panic attacks and finding social situations overwhelming when she was referred to Twining Enterprise’s mental health employment support.

Our Employment Specialist, Alisa, supported her in a range of ways. Alisa said:

The first time I met Kelly, she was very open and honest from the get go which I really respected and felt inspired by her courage when she opened up to me. I was excited to start supporting Kelly to find a job that she has worked hard studying for and one of the first practical things we did was work on amending her CV and create a strong covering letter that she feels confident using.  Our meetings are filled with positive energy and I can see that even the small steps we take together have already had such a huge impact on Kelly’s wellbeing and confidence.

But actually our support is much more than just practical things like polishing your CV and helping you write ‘wow’ applications, there’s much more to our tailored employment support for people with mental health issue.

I can’t fault her she has gone over her duty to help me. She is really working very hard giving me lots of options and also keeping in regular contact with me by email and text. People can be really tense and she makes you feel relaxed. You go in there feeling so tense she has got that knack of making you feel relaxed. I told my daughter all about her! She’s really helping me to calm down and not only helping me get work she really is helping me with my stresses and my ability to socialise. She’s got something extra about her she made me come out of myself more than I was before.

Alisa has been able to support Kelly to maintain and improve her wellbeing so that when she gets work she will be better able to maintain her job and her mental health for the future.
