Lakhvinder’s guidance empowered me to take control of my own path!

Ava* had reached a critical point in her life with some difficult personal challenges, when she was referred to Twining Enterprise for employment support.  Ava started working with her dedicated Employment Advisor, Lakhvinder, who supported Ava to start taking concrete steps to rebuild her career.  Even when she faced rejection, Ava benefited from Lakhvinder’s ongoing support which meant she didn’t give up.  Today Ava is in her dream job and back in the heart of her family, where she feels stable and happy again.  Ava wrote in to tell us about her experience in her own words…

At a critical juncture, I connected with Lakhvinder through Twining’s employment support service. Her guidance came at a time when I was also dealing with personal challenges, including a break-up. I realized that I needed to take control of my life and decide what truly mattered to me. This led me to move back to my home country, where I could find support from my family and gain the stability to reflect on my future.

With Lakhvinder’s help, I began taking concrete steps to rebuild my career. She spent time with me reviewing my CV and offering insights into how I could present my skills and experiences to stand out. It was a relief to have someone so knowledgeable and encouraging by my side as I started applying for jobs in London. Although I faced a string of rejections, Lakhvinder’s support gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward.

Despite these setbacks, I was still uncertain about where I belonged. I started to wonder if staying in my home country, close to my family, might be a better path for me. Around that time, I applied for a position in Cyprus that was initially a quality assurance role. My dream had always been to work in regulatory affairs, so I was pleasantly surprised when they mentioned that, given my qualifications, there was a regulatory affairs role available. At that moment, I felt like I had found the sign I was looking for.

Today, I am thrilled to be in my dream job in regulatory affairs, in my home country, surrounded by the support of my family. This journey has led me to a place of stability and happiness I hadn’t felt in years. I’m deeply grateful to Lakhvinder for her guidance and support, which empowered me to take control of my path and pursue what truly fulfils me.
